There will be a wide cast of mercs to hire, with the return of some fan favourites, and you can then improve them with perks as they level up, giving them new gear from looted, salvaged and customised weaponry and equipment. As you head into each combat situation, you’ll have to factor in everything from the weather and lighting to level topography and whether your mercs were well rested before the mission. Jagged Alliance 3 follows in the original template, but completely modernised the approach to turn-based tactical combat and the RPG elements woven around it, with Haemimont Games on hand as developer.
The latest trailer delves into the gameplay features that you can expect from this series revival – it’s been 25 years since the original launched, and Jagged Alliance 2 was also rooted in the last millennium, with the spin-offs that came since then being dubbed as “interesting”.
